I, Andrei Marek, was born in Eastern Europe in the 1940s. I attended art and woodworking school in Romania followed by an apprenticeship. I became a master carver-woodworker, sculptor and have over 35 years of experience. I appreciate the importance of the whole process from concept thru design to realization of the final project.
My works are interpretation on classical design, including period furniture and interiors, ranging from the renaissance style, to art-deco, and thru modern and contemporary composition.
Working with me you will start with concept consultations thru design, including precise scale drawings, to execution.
High Honors for White House Work
In 1999 I was honored by the Washington Metropoliton Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers for successful collaboration in completing an award-winning interior design project. The project included creating the piece shown to the left, a curtain hanger located in the White House Portico, in Washington D.C.
